Marinated Ontario Button Mushrooms (500 mL) (VEGAN)


Our Marinated Ontario Button Mushrooms is small-batch handmade from locally farmed #1 quality button mushrooms and infused with luxurious cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil and vinegar, roasted sweet red pepper, onion and a hint of fresh garlic and Italian herbs, creating a supple versatile mushroom that can be used in a variety of ways (other than right out of the jar…but hey…that’s how the chef loves them too!!). Marinated button mushrooms can be used in a variety of dishes, both as a main ingredient or as a garnish. Here are a few ideas:

Grilled or roasted mushrooms: Marinated mushrooms can be grilled or roasted and served as a side dish or added to salads, sandwiches or pasta.

Antipasto platter: Marinated mushrooms can be included on an antipasto platter along with other cured meats, cheeses, and vegetables.

Pizza topping: Slice the marinated mushrooms and use them as a topping for pizza.

Omelette or frittata filling: Chop the mushrooms and use them as a filling for omelettes or frittatas.

Pasta sauce: Chop the mushrooms and add them to a tomato or cream-based pasta sauce.

Tapas or appetizers: Serve marinated mushrooms as a tapa or appetizer with toothpicks or on crostini.

Refrigerate after opening – Please note that the marinade contains extra virgin olive oil that will solidify and change colour to almost a butter texture once refrigerated. Take advantage of that butter-like oil to spread on crostini or allow your jar to come to room temperature for approximately half an hour before using, allowing the extra virgin olive oil to return to its glorious liquid state.
